Here, I reserve space for dreaming.
My business goals are driven by redistributing white wealth.
My dreams for my work are always evolving.
My work has been, and always will be, grounded in the wisdom of folks who have poured into me over my lifetime. I am not the expert and the knowledge I have is based upon the labor of folks of the global majority of multiple identities.
Therefore, a minimum of 50% of all proceeds paid to me for caucus spaces, goes directly to Black and Indigenous individuals in Alaska.
I understand that redistributing wealth can be scary for white folks, so I want to have conversations about reparations and how white folks can pay reparations, contribute to healing, and encourage efforts without sliding into being a white savior.
“You do not have to be me in order for us to fight alongside each other. I do not have to be you to recognize that our wars are the same. What we must do is commit ourselves to some future that can include each other and to work toward that future with the particular strengths of our individual identities. And in order for us to do this, we must allow each other our differences at the same time as we recognize our sameness.”
Ultimately, I want my business to fund a healing space for Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and POC community members to come together to heal together. I envision this space as a source of income for folks who attend. They will to come to healing spaces, be paid to engage in the space, and leave with community care. My role is only to support this dream space existing monetarily and administratively.
